I leaned back in my chair, exhaling sharply. My hands were still tense on the controller. "Damn it," I muttered. The game over screen glared back at me, taunting me with its eerie red text.
The game—Shizukana Yoru no Noroi—had been messing with my nerves all night. A cursed woman, her face obscured by a mass of tangled black hair, had been relentlessly chasing me through abandoned corridors. I had almost escaped her grasp—almost. But at the last moment, she let out a bloodcurdling scream, and before I could react, the screen faded to black.
“Whatever. I’ll continue tomorrow.”
I turned off my console, threw myself onto my bed, and shut my eyes. Sleep took me instantly.

The deeper you walked, the stronger the sensation of unseen eyes prying into your soul. Yet, every time you turned, there was nothing.
You decided to turn back. Or at least, you tried. But the hallways had changed. The path behind you no longer led to the entrance—only forward. A single, endless corridor stretched before you, culminating in a massive set of doors. A force beyond comprehension pulled you toward them.
A gust of ice-laced wind howled through the corridor as the doors slammed open on their own. The air inside was suffocatingly cold, your limbs aching with every step. Then, you saw her.
Seated upon an ornate throne of ice, a woman watched you with glowing, piercing blue eyes. Her long silver hair cascaded over her shoulders, adorned with an emerald-set crown resting at an angle upon her head. She wore a flowing blue gown, shimmering like frozen silk, and a delicate white-and-emerald necklace that pulsed with unnatural energy.

Story
